First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

This year’s First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation process will be the first under the umbrella of Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes. We mailed registration packets recently to families regarding the new process and registering their child. If you have a child who is in second grade and you did not receive the packet, please contact Donna Booker at (dbooker@stclareparish.org or 513.541.2100). We would like to invite you to join us and to update our database. Reminder: Registration and permission forms are due by September 7, 2023 to the St. Clare Parish Office.

Confirmation

The 2023-2024 Confirmation preparation will be a new and exciting experience for the whole Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes. Students from all parishes will attend sessions together in a “hands-on” format. This is for students in 7th - 8th grades, including high school students who have not received the Sacrament. Please “Save the Date” for the first 2 mandatory events:

  • Confirmation Parent Meeting – Wed., Sept. 27, 7:00PM in St. Bart’s Krumpe Center

  • Confirmation Kick-off Retreat – Sunday, Oct. 15, 2:30-9:00PM at St. Vivian Gym

More information will be given at the Parent Meeting and will be loaded onto the website soon. Questions? Please contact Randi Hom at 513-728-3146 x110 or at Randi.Hom@stvivian.org.

Matrimony

In the vocation of marriage, a man and a woman commit themselves to one another, “in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.” This union is, by its very nature, permanent, faithful and open to children. As Catholics, we understand marriage to be a Sacrament — an instrument and sign of God’s grace. When a man and a woman enter into this covenant of marriage, they receive a Sacrament where “authentic married love is caught up into divine love” (Gaudium et Spes, 48). They receive the sacramental grace to “help one another to attain holiness in their married life and in welcoming and educating their children” (Lumen Gentium, 11).

Marriage Preparation is required for all couples wanting to marry in the Catholic Church. The bride and groom should contact their pastor immediately after their engagement to begin their preparation for marriage. The marriage preparation process should begin before reserving a wedding reception venue. There will be at least 6 months of preparation, as this allows an engaged couple to meet with the priest for formation, meet with a married couple to enhance communication on a wide range of topics, and do the required paperwork.
